Congratulations to the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame's 2016 inductees
As hosted at The Space At Westbury, the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame's 2016 induction event -- its 10th gala overall -- attracted a lot of star power. Beyond its class of inductees, those walking the red carpet included Public Enemy's Chuck D, guitarist G.E. Smith, The Patti Smith Group's Lenny Kaye, music industry executive Ron Alexenburg and singer Gary U.S. Bonds.
This year's inductees were:
- Big Daddy Kane
- Steve Vai
- Carter Burwell
- Charles Koppelman
- Garland Jeffreys
- Sandy Pearlman
- Jim Steinman
- Santo & Johnny
- Vince Giordano
- Westbury Music Fair
Long-time E-Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt may not be a Long Island native, but his extensive contributions in and beyond the music business contributed to his being recipient of the 2016 Harry Chapin Award.
Prior inductees to the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame include Billy Joel, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Marvin Hamlisch, Dream Theater, Carole King, Public Enemy and Lou Reed.
