Gilbert Gottfried To Return To Governor's Comedy Club on Oct. 15, Carolines On Broadway on Dec. 23 & 24

Whether you know him as a stand-up comic, an actor, or as one of Howard Stern's best guests of all time, Gilbert Gottfried has been making people laugh for decades. Recently, Gilbert has reinvented himself as an award-winning podcaster, co-hosting Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast with comedy writer Frank Santopadre.

In support of his Oct. 15 show in Levittown, Gilbert spoke to No Place Like Long Island. The Brooklyn native (and long-time Manhattan resident) was a delight as always. More info -- including details on his upcoming shows at Carolines On Broadway -- can be found at www.gilbertgottfried.com

Being a lifelong New Yorker, having grown up in Brooklyn, what were your impressions of Long Island as a child?

GG: I tried to do impressions of Long Island, but I could never get the voice right.

What do you remember about the first time you ever performed on Long Island?

GG: Whether it’s Long Island or Tibet, it all just blends together after a while.

Is performing on Long Island different than it is performing for a crowd in New York City?

GG: Probably not.

For those coming to see you in Levittown in October what should be expected?

GG: They can expect to set through five minutes of my act and then look at each other and say, “Whose idea was it to see Gilbert Gottfried?"

Have you ever traveled to Long Island for fun or non-work purposes?

GG: Sometimes I hunt lions on Long Island.

Have you ever been part of a TV show or a movie that filmed on Long Island?

GG: Not that I know of.

Finally, what do you wish more people knew about Gilbert Gottfried?

GG: How shockingly well-endowed I am.
