NY Guitar Expo returns Apr. 22 & 23; Rich Johnson talks to NPLLI
After a rousing success last April, the New York Guitar Show & Exposition proved to be the largest New York metro area guitar show in two decades. Promoter Rich Johnson is a 22-year veteran of presenting events, including 15 years as the seminar producer/director for the New York Boat Show. But a distinction of Rich's productions is that his trade shows are known not to have the "flea market" look that many people would expect.
"Our sixth year is going to be larger and better than ever," began Rich in Q&A with No Place Like Long Island. "New sponsors and media partners are joining in on what is now the fastest-growing guitar show on the East Coast, tripling in size since our inception in 2012."
He continued: "There’s no shortage of incredible people in this area to support the eclectic music scene that makes the New York Tri-State region the music bed the entire world wants to jump in to. We’re hoping just a small fraction of that “world” comes to partake in the eclectic show we have put together."
As per what someone should expect when attending on Apr. 22 and/or 23 at the Freeport Recreation Center: "The show has become a fan favorite with our well-rounded guitar show with vintage gear & guitars, retailers, manufacturers, private collections, etc. So anyone walking through the front door can participate in some way large or small."
